The Freedom Tower, New York

Architect(s): David M. Childs of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill
Completed: 2013

This spectacular piece of contemporary architecture stands today in the place of the former World Trade Centre. Its immaculate structure allows it to stand 541.3 metres tall whilst still remaining aesthetically pleasing in multiple perspective points. Its bright contrast against its surroundings further conveys its unique place and reminder of the past in Manhattan's Downtown. Therefore, uniquely representing how simplistic lines and balance develop innovative new forms of modern architecture whilst also expressing the importance of remembrance.
